Yarn Fever level lab

Play any level from three packs (100 to 200, 600 to 700, 1441 to 1500) with the real basket picking logic: 2 baskets, a 5 slot tray, and up to 2 revives that each add a box for good. Then let three kinds of player bot play it and explain what happened.

How each bot plays

Bot dumb

Never peeks and never mistaps. Fills a basket when it can see a match, otherwise parks the color it already holds or sees most. A careless but steady player.

Bot normal

Your description of a normal player. Before each tap it holds to peek under 5 to 10 of the pieces it is weighing, one color at a time. It mistaps the piece next door 1 to 5% of the time, fixed per attempt. When look alike colors are both showing (white and light grey, cream and yellow, blue and navy), it sometimes takes one for the other, up to 6% per pair.

Bot smart

Peeks under every piece it can tap and never makes a mistake. The ceiling for careful play.

Bot calibrated

Bot normal tuned to live revives per win on levels 100 to 200. It peeks only 1 to 3 pieces per tap and confuses look alike colors 1.5 times as often. That is what it took to match live players.

Baskets

Tray

Tap a big piece to pull it. Hover or press and hold a piece to see the one color right under it. Each tap uncovers the one piece right under it. A revive adds an extra box that stays and always serves an easy color, starting with the color piled highest in your tray. Stacks follow file order. Colors match the game, read from screenshots of levels 100, 129, 156, 189 and 191; colors 5, 11, 14 and 19 have not shown up yet.

Bot dumb and Bot smart played 10,000 times on levels 1441 to 1500 and 1,000 times elsewhere. Bot normal and Bot calibrated played every level 1,000 times. Every attempt gets fresh hidden colors and fresh basket picks. Levels 159 and 162 are left out because their files list hidden yarn that is not attached to any stack. A 500 attempt replay explains where the revives come from. Bot dumb never peeks. Bot medium peeks under up to 5 pieces before each tap. Bot smart peeks under every piece it can tap. A peek shows only the one color right under a piece.
